Hello, I’m Spencer and I am a freshman studying mechanical engineering. I’m from a small town outside of Boston called Wayland. At Rice I am in Lovett college, and a part of Rice Eclipse. One thing that I have made that I’m proud of was in my ENGI 120 class, which was a device for the University of Malawi Polytechnic Design Studio that would cut plastic bottles into thin filaments for use in projects. I don’t really have anything in specific that I want to make yet, but I look forward to making the complex machine in this class because I really enjoyed looking at the ones from last semester. In ENGI 210, I hope to learn how to use most of the machines in the OEDK so I would be comfortable using them for projects in the future.
