Hello world, my name is Rachel Bui (Bioengineering, ’21)! Some fun facts:

• I’ve spent the night at an alleged haunted house
• I’m a radio DJ at KTRU Rice Radio
• I’ve interviewed lots of artists (one of my favorite people I’ve interviewed is Same Tsui)
• I have no clue what I’m doing after graduation

Some things I’ve made that I’m proud of is crocheting a purse that resembles the old Instagram icon in a mint color ( I did this without a pattern – unfortunately I can’t find a photo, so I’ve inserted some origami roses I made).

I’m excited for the final project for this class – building a hand-held machine. I’ve seen them around the OEDK and have always been fascinated by them.

Something I’m hoping to learn is, strangely enough, learning to use a sewing machine. While I can sew by hand, and I grew up with my mom sewing me things from quilts to clothes, I never learned how to sew with a machine.
