Info About Me: Reece Lusich

Who are you and what activities are you engaged in at Rice?

  • My name is Reece Lusich and I am a sophomore at Hanszen college. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Entrepreneurship and Engineering Design. At Rice, I am currently the Internal Vice President of ASME. I am a Design Mentor for ENGI 120 and an Academic Fellow at my residential college. I also work at the Rec and am involved in IM sports at my college!

What is one thing that you have made that you are proud of?

  • One thing I have made that I am proud of is the wet umbrella holder my team and I designed and built in ENGI 120. It is currently at the OEDK!

What is one thing that you want to make?

  • I am interested in the field of sports engineering and where that field meets design. I also love to run, so I think it was be awesome to design my own pair of running shoes someday.

What is one thing that you hope to learn in ENGI 210?

  • In ENGI 210, I would like to learn how to use the tools and machines at the OEDK create really cool things! I also want to gain more expertise on machines I already know how to use, like the laser cutter and 3D printer.
