Nahom’s Reasons for Taking ENGI 210!

My name is Nahom Dagnachew and I am a Junior MechE from Brown College. I am currently engaged in several engineering clubs such as the National Society of Black Engineers and Rice Electric Vehicle Club and participated in Rice Hyperloop and Rice Robitics. I am also a part of social organizations like RASA. One thing I made that I am proud of was a popsicle stick bridge last year for a statics course that was able to withstand loads of 100+ lbs. One thing I want to be able to make is a 3D printed nerf gun from scratch where I customize the shooting speeds, designs, etc. I hope to master or at least become familiar with all the machinery we use in the class as these skills will be beneficial in the future. Specifically, I want to become fully accustomed to the 3D printer and be able to print complex assembly pieces which will require learning how to post-process.
