Hi everyone!

My name is Almudena, and I am a grad student in the BIOE GMI program. One of the things I’ve made that I am most proud of is a robot that my freshman year engineering class made for the final competition. It was a simple robot using servo motors, laser cut acrylic parts, and some hardware, and it was supposed to pick up some blocks from a staircase in one side of the field most and then travel to the other side to score points. We were one of the top robots of our section and we were able to make it past the first round in the class wide championship tournament!

I want to take ENGI 599 to learn more about prototyping. Specifically, I hope to learn how to use and program a CNC machine and also learn how to sew. Although I am not a chess player, I have always wanted to design and make a whole chess set and gift it to my brother, so I hope to take the skills learned in this class to make that happen!
