Sewing an Apron Christian

Cutting out the apron and sewing it together was a journey.

The first initial measuring of the apron, and the cuts I needed to make ended up being a relaxed and easy section. I ended up cutting a large apron since usually when  get shirts I get a large shirt. The waist is around 26″ and the top is around 20″. I chose 20″ for the top since 23″ (which is 26 minus 3) seemed too wide for my upper torso so I trimmed an additional 3 inches and it fit perfectly.

The world is large and plentiful place, with many different people stretching many different cultures and many different talents. Many people have many different talents. And as a society, we delegate our tasks to those best equipped for it. It’s a great thing we do that, because if I was delegated to sewing, the world would be as naked as Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

I believe I spent around 4 hours trying to perfect the box stitch method. I used black thread, which was difficult to see against the black fabric.  Not to mention, the machines in general are difficult to use. When did end up using my cut fabric within the machine, I made imperfect boxes. These are perfectly serviceable in the function of keeping the apron together, however, they are aesthetically unappealing.

As an Apron though it works and I will definitely be using it in the future.
