CNC Longhorn

For this homework, I chose to CNC machine a Longhorn for the same reasons stated in my metal cutting and post-processing blog post. I downloaded the STL file of a Longhorn from the Noun Project website and used Carbide Create to set the machine path. I had two pocket cuts inserted into this piece. I proceeded to cut my two pieces out using the CNC machine.

After cutting out the two pieces, I sanded them to remove the rough edges left by the cutting process. However, some rough edges remained in the pocket cuts that were inaccessible with regular sandpaper, so I used a Dremel to smooth those areas.

I proceeded to stain after this. The final piece is seen below.
