Brad and Holden’s Knight

To start this project, for gate one, we explored thingyverse for an interesting model of a knight. We ended up choosing one that was too complicated and after turning it in for gate one was told that it would not be possible to CNC. Our first print can be seen below:

Once again, we explored thingverse to find another model:

Once we got our model approved, we then split our model in half to create the 3D printed version of the positive. Show below is our drawing and the print:

Next, using the other half of our file, we used the CNC to cut another negative:

Now that we had both sides of our positives, we were ready to create our negatives. Our process is shown in the pictures below:

We then repeated the same process with the CNC half:

Once we had our negative, we were ready to pour our final mold! I first one did not turn out so great because our pegs did not align correctly due to tolerance issues on the CNC:

Once we fixed the issue our next pours turned out much better. Our final 4 pieces are shown below:
