Who are you and what activities are you engaged in at Rice?
My name is Divya Wagh and I’m a junior from Brown College majoring in mechanical engineering. My favorite activities at Rice include working on projects to build a sanitation system and a bridge in South America as part of Engineers Without Borders, playing powderpuff, and being a member of the South Asian Society. I’m also doing research on surface coatings at the Preston Innovation Lab and am planning College Night at Brown.
What is one thing that you have made that you are proud of?
One thing that I have made that I’m proud of is my Instagram food blog @divya.eats. Please follow it :))
What is one thing that you want to make (this semester or in the future)?
One thing I really want to make in the future is a functional remote control toy car. I would like to 3D print the body of the car and create a circuit with a motor, battery, steering, receiver, and remote transmitter. It’s going to be a very challenging project but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do!
What is one thing that you hope to learn in ENGI 210?
One thing I hope to learn in ENGI 210 is 3-D printing CAD designs. While I have experience creating 3D models in SolidWorks, I have not had the opportunity to actually print the model and see it in the real world. I’m also hoping to improve my hand tool skills!
