Hi everyone!!!

Hi everyone, Louis here. I am a new master student at Rice University this year, currently major in Bioengineering applied engineering.

I had my bachelor degree in Canada, one thing I’m proud of is I conducted some research and studies for the detection of brain activity using brain imaging techniques as an undergraduate. I mainly used functional near-infrared spectroscopy to study how frontal and motor cortical areas respond during performance of KINARM standard tasks through a cohort of neurologically healthy young adults. These studies included attempts to reveal the relationship between performance on standardized tasks and cortical activity, the relationship between ipsilateral and contralateral hemodynamic activity and subjects’ hand dominance, and the relationship between performance and subjects’ physiological sex.

I hold an interest in neuroscience, so I hope to continue my research on neuroscience this year and in the future. With BIOE 555 I hope to learn the use of 3D printers as they are an important aid in neuroscience and even many other life science related research.
