Hi everyone!

My name is Catherine Stidham and I am a junior BIOE originally from Dallas, from Martel. Outside of classes, I do research in a lab in the MECH department. I’m also one of the officers for RiceMD and BMES, and I served as Design chair for RPC last year.

This summer, I was here in Houston doing research and taking classes (BIOE 341 and MECH 202). I also worked a little with Dr. Cone in the physics outreach program, where one project I worked on was a double pendulum to bring to hospitals/ schools in the Med Center and teach younger kids about the physics behind it.

I’m not set on any one thing I’d want to make this semester, but I think a robotic car would be cool, as would a headphone or laptop stand. I’m excited to learn how to use the 3D printer. Can’t wait to see all y’all in class!
