I vinyl cut two different stickers. One was a test cut of my name which I put on my phone case, and the other was a much larger piece for the wall in my room. I used clear scotch tape to transfer my name to my phone case, and I tried using blue painter’s tape to transfer the larger image to my wall. Painter’s tape was a bit too sticky for use as transfer paper, but I made it work anyway.

For practice using illustrator I also drew up some more detailed drawings of a couple of my final project ideas. I chose to draw two of my ideas that could be fabricated using the laser cutter since it accepts Adobe Illustrator files as input.
The first drawing is a sketch of the water droplet mechanical sculpture I want to create. It is composed almost entirely of parts that can be laser cut, so I drew each individual part in addition to a side view of the entire assembly.
The second drawing is a sketch of an arrangement of gears (spelling out my initials) which I would put on my wall. If you look at the zoomed-out picture of the “Adventure Awaits” vinyl cut poster on my wall (seen above) you can see a long plank of wood. I plan on attaching a series of laser cut gears to the plank of wood using nails, which will function as the axles for the gears. You can see a concept sketch below:
