Sammy and I made a bridge out of plasma cut aluminum sheet. We drew the design in SolidWorks, made the tool paths for the plasma cutter in TorchMate, and then cut our parts. For the road in the center of the bridge we used the sheet metal bend (after plasma cutting a rectangle), but because the metal we used for the road was so thick we couldn’t quite make a 90 degree bend. We cut two pieces of threaded rod to hold the lower portion of the two halves of the bridge together, and used 5 brass screw/nuts on each half to secure the road to the sides of the bridge.
