This project was to create a nameplate for a desk. I first cut out the name with a block below it. I then sanded and filed off all of the slag, cleaned the metal with soap and water, brushed it with emery cloth, bent it into shape, and then put a clear coat of paint lacquer on it to keep away the fingerprints.
In order to make the surface of the metal appear more uniform, I brushed the metal with emery cloth.
The metal was too thick to bend all the way backwards, so I placed two bends close together which created a curved bend that actually turned out very well.
The font was too small, and as a result, the second ‘r’ was obliterated.
