Brian’s Ring Finger

This week the task was to create a perfect replica of my ring finger. I started off early, creating an alginate mold of my left hand and then creating a plaster positive on the first day.

I then cut down my plaster positive and used it to create a silicon female mold of just my ring finger. Once that had set, I used the mold and the Smoothcast 300Q to make another positive of my finger since there was no water in the mold to inhibit the production. I then used the Smoothcast Dragonskin in an effort to make a more realistic feeling finger. I did not realize, however, that the silicon would bond with the Dragonskin, and I was unable to remove the positive from the mold.
