Helen’s Assignment 1: Sketching and Drawing

Here are my sketches and drawings for assignment 1.

For the horse squeegee that changes the color of the horse, I chose my sketch of a genetically modified ant. This ant has a mouth engineered to function as a squeegee. The ant drinks the water from the horse’s coat and defecates color dye, which is brushed into the horse’s coat with the ant’s feet.

For the light saber pen with a toothpick, I drew a voice-activated glove that is laser-proof to prevent any unhappy accidents. With one command, the glove also dispenses a reusable toothpick or extends a pen from the fingertip.

For the panda chainsaw, I chose my design of a chain saw tail prosthetic, which is attached to the panda with carbon fiber pins embedded in the panda’s back and spine. Electrodes transmit neural signals from the spinal cord to the prosthetic, allowing the panda to control the saw with its brain.
