Concept 1: Horse Squeegee (Used/operated by horses, horse dries itself, can change horse’s color)
Initial design sketches:
I experimented with different options for the horse to hold in its mouth, perhaps to squeegee itself. However, after a couple of initial sketches, I found that it would be unrealistic to expect the horse to be able to squeegee itself using its mouth, due to the limited mobility of a horse’s neck, so I looked into other options. The design I decided upon incorporates the horse’s movement: using a carrot as a lure, the horse is enticed to walk through a pair of arches. The first arch will squeegee the water off of the horse, while the second arch applies a layer of paint, effectively changing the horse’s color. In addition, the legs of the arches are spring-loaded, to conform to the horse’s shape as it passes through them.

Concept 2: Lightsaber (Used/operated by humans, also has a pen, also has a toothpick)
Initial design sketches:
I found it difficult to incorporate to all three elements elegantly into a single design. I experimented with many elements of folding to keep the toothpick and the pen inside of the lightsaber, and I also tried using each element as the primary feature of the device (toothpick, pen, or lightsaber as base). I also faced some difficulties because I was not sure how lightsabers actually work. However, I chose a final design that resembles a Swiss Army knife, with extensions for a toothpick, pen, and lightsaber, with space for additional attachments.

Concept 3: Chainsaw (Used/operated by pandas, cuts bamboo, also pivotal in world domination)
Initial design sketches:
I tried to use designs that would allow for bipedal pandas to dual-wield chainsaws; however, I found that it was implausible for a panda to be able to balance and wield a chainsaw, even with additional sling attachments. I then began experimenting in designs that would be strapped to the panda’s back, allowing it to move unrestricted on four legs while harvesting bamboo and conquering the world. The final design incorporates four spinning chainsaw blades, allowing for three-hundred and sixty degrees of bamboo cutting world domination, in addition to side-mounted turrets. These features allow for optimal bamboo harvest while giving the panda a wide range of attacking options, as it can easily charge into battle and use the helicopter-chainsaw on its back to protect itself.
