3D Printing

For this project we were required to 3D print an object. I chose to create the cryptex seen below.

When the correct 5-digit combination is entered, you can pull out one of the green sides and open a compartment inside the device.

This cryptex consisted of 15 individual pieces. 5 inner rings, 5 outer rings, and 5 pieces that composed the base. The first time I printed this however, one of the pieces of the base was bent in post-processing. I attempted to use it as such, but when assembling, it snapped as seen below.

Therefore, I reprinted this piece and then constructed the final piece. Upon initial construction, the rings were very tight, and did not turn well. However after several uses, they have grown smoother, and I expect them to turn quite easily after repeated use.
