So the three cards I drew in class are ‘traffic cops’, ‘something that covers their head’ and ‘works underwater’. To be honest, it’s a little bit hard to come up with ideas, basically because the combination seems useless to me, at least in the next twenty years. But I did enjoy having a tough time brainstorming and an even tougher time doing sketches and drawings. Great experience for someone who has no artistic talent at all. Anyways, below are the five rough sketches (not very ‘rough’, because the first versions are way too small).
My ideas come from swimming hats, helmets, caps or simply bags. Most of them requires to be made of waterproof material so that these head-covers can work underwater. Details of each sketch are written on the images.
And after some more time, I chose two ideas out of the five and did more detailed drawings.
This is Drawing #1, which comes from sketch #4. The general idea is to have a helmet, similar to the motorcycle helmet, on the traffic cop’s head. The helmet is modified in a way such that it now allows the attachment of respiratory tube, and prevents water from entering it by air-tight and water-proof material. A small light is also attached on top of the helmet so the cop will be able to see through water even if the surrounding is very dark.
And this is Drawing #2, a more developed version of sketch #5. The shape of the design is close to a normal cap, only the front of it is now foldable and substituted by swimming glasses with clips for sunglasses to attach on. At the same time, the bottom part of the cap has elastic stripes that are able to make sure the device will not be detached from the cop’s head.
