My name is Kevin Dix, or KJ for short. I am pursuing both a Electrical and Mechanical Engineering degree as well as the engineering design minor. In addition to these programs I am also engaged in some clubs such as Rice Electric Vehicle and Rice Robotics. One thing that I have made that I am proud of is a robot to compete in the FIRST robotics Powerup challenge. I was poised as the engineering lead of my team and therefore served as the project manager for this robot. We were able to take this robot to the world championship where we got the farthest in our team’s history.

On thing that I would like to build hopefully during this class is an intricate mechanical sculpture. I also hope that I will gain practical knowledge of cnc machining.
