makeabox.io is a scam but the hacksaw solves all of your problems

Having used illustrator quite a bit in the past, creating the file to cut was very simple and took about 10 minutes. However, I incorrectly assumed the thickness was 1/8 inch and had to do it over. The correct settings I used are shown here:

the failed box

The second time around, the cut worked fine and I was able to get all of the pieces successfully. The laser settings I used were acquired with no testing by consulting the wisdom of the ancients, aka asking someone what settings they used. The kerf was determined the same way.

high IQ positioning to make use of the rest of the scrap wood

However, I did not realize makeabox.io would be bugged and output an incorrectly modeled box. One of the sides had tabs on two sides that could not physically fit into the rest of the box, only allowing the box to be assembled with 5 sides. However, the OEDK has my beloved hacksaw and it made everything alright in the world once more.

Also, the squirrel picture was my rice box picture, so I guess you can say I put my rice box on my rice box hehehehehehe

Cost breakdown:

wood: $

labor: $20: 1 hr at $20 per hour

total: $22.71
