I’m a soph0more Mechanical Engineering major at Sid Richardson college. My hometown is Nairobi in Kenya, so yes I’m an international student at Rice. So far the club I’ve mostly been involved in Rice Eclipse, which I love because I want to go into the aerospace industry after Rice and also RASA, our African students association at Rice. I’ve also been involved in different things at my residential college, where I advised for oweek, are an academic fellow and I’m a member in 2 committees. I’m proud of what we made in our engi 120 team last year because we designed it from scratch and iterated with the 3D printers. Something I’ve really wanted to make is my own miniature liquid rocket engine but obviously that will be in the future. I really want to increase my proficiency with machining and manufacturing because that’s something we do a lot of in engineering clubs at Rice and in Industry.
