Hi friends! My name is Kacey, I’m a junior studying Civil Engineering. I spend the vast majority of my time at Rice Bikes as Projects Manager, but I’m hoping to expand a little outside of that this year. You can find me at the QRC during my office hours, and hopefully at the OEDK most days! I have about half a dozen works-in-progress and ideas-in-development that I’d love to get finished this year.
One of the projects I’m most proud of is my traffic cone table, Zahir! I’ve attached some pictures below of both the cone and Mach 1 of the table. The table top is clear acrylic and held in place by some bicycle derailleur cables, so it’s a little hard to make out. I’m looking into making a new version that’s a little smaller, and addressing the slight bowing across the top of the table.
As soon as I knock that out, I’d love to get into some woodworking/ reupholstering to deck out my new apartment. It’s really fortunate that sewing is week 1, because that’ll definitely help! I’m really pumped to be able to sew more quickly than I can by hand, because I’d love to alter some of the stuff I thrift to better suit my style.
