My Apron not yours

Making of the apron:

Started with a high-level plan and dimensions as shown in the picture below. One big challenge I faced when sewing the strings to the apron in an X format was that because the space for the x is small the sewing machine ended up being too fast. A better way to phrase is that I found it hard to control it for a short space of time. Ended up using the wheel at the back to slowly sew which I believe solved the problem.

The sewing process:

This weekend I had an excellent opportunity to design an apron. As Dr. Wettergreen mentioned a lot of time is spent figuring out what’s wrong. I learned a lot but I was frustrated most of the time. I learned how to figure things out and enjoyed how the apron looked.

Final Product:

6 hours later, my apron was done. Ended up adding a pocket even though I was doing the beginner apron.

Failures?

I feel like it took me forever to get the sewing machine set up and every time it would flop/ malfunction it would also take forever to fix it.

How much did this object cost?

Raw materials: Fabric + thread = $20

labor and machine time : 4 hours @ $15/hr = $60

Total = $80
