A new skill learned

The first step was to use 3d printer os to FDM print my part. Initially, I used supports and I realized I could not remove all supports without breaking the piece.

This meant that I had to do a lot of trial and error. I ended up lowering the layer height from 0.25mm to 0.1mm. This worked but I was using raft but it was also hard to remove the part. I talked to Tori and she suggested I do brim instead and it worked!

So far so good right?

Now it was time to do a different type of printing.

My SLA part had to have supported and I used a raft.

Now it was time to wash it with alcohol. I cured it to harder resin. I then removed the supports and learned that it was actually much harder.

I redid another print but this time I removed supports before curing it.

With that out of the way, my 5 parts were done !!

I had never 3d printed in my life and this assignment started the journey. I was frustrated many times than I can count and it was worth it and fun!
