Introduction Post – Max Kuhlman

I am a freshman at Lovett majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I am currently a member of Rice Eclipse, and really enjoy learning about and building rockets/rocket adjacent projects. I also spend a lot of my free time playing Ultimate Frisbee, and am on Rice’s Club Frisbee team, Cloud 9 Ultimate.

One project I have built that I am proud of is building and flying several FPV (first-person video) racing drones over the past few years.

One project I hope to be able to complete in the future is a kinetic sand art table, which I would like to do because of the mix of computer control and art that can create beautiful patterns humans are incapable of making on their own.

In Engi 210 I hope to learn more about 3 dimensional fabrication, for example 3d printing and CNC, because I want to be able to use these techniques in addition to what I know about 2 dimensional fabrication to make more interesting projects.
