Hello!! My name is Santiago Aparicio current graduate Rice student in the global Medical Innovation program. I am proud of my capstone project in which I developed a device that could measure chest rigidity in patients with Pectus Carinuatum. We used a microcontroller, distance sensors, and 3D printing part to develop this device.
Nevertheless, My task was more oriented on the software and hardware of the device than the Solidworks aspect. So that is one of the reasons I wanted to be part of this class.
I am proud of this project because I had the chance to impact kids in hospitals. This semester I am very interested in learning to use 3D printing parts to case electronics such as microcontrollers or motors. I hope to come proficient in using all the machines in the OEDK which is going to be useful for my future career.
