Shannon 3D Prints the Impossible

So this is the product.

Fun Fact: Despite this being my last class for the engineering design minor, I have somehow never used a 3D printer before this. Usually, someone else in my group was able to do it.

I decided to do something simple as I have never 3D printed myself before. I scaled the model down to 32 mm.

Since this print, although relatively small, is the same on each side and composed of very simple shapes I decided to use a middle ground between the suggested layer height from the OEDK instructions and the suggested 3DprinterOS layer height for PLA on the Prusa at 0.3 mm.

I was able to successfully print these cubes using FDM. I auto-generated supports for the upper half of the box. I chose to also use a raft for the print because there was very little surface area touching the bed. I removed the supports by hand and with a box cutter and sanded the boxes to post-process the objects. The final length of the model was 26 cm.
