Hello! My name is Eva. I am a junior at Baker and I am studying Mechanical Engineering. At Rice, I am involved with Engineers Without Borders and Baker’s Community Service Committee.
Over the summer, I participated in iSEED and took engineering design classes in Amsterdam and Paris. During the program, my team worked to create a food cutting device for users with low manual dexterity. It was a lot of fun to work on my design skills while exploring new places, and I was very proud of the final prototype.
In the future, I think it would be really cool to make a piece of furniture that I could use in my home. This semester, in ENGI 210, I am most looking forward to learning about 3D printing because of its variety of applications. I also hope to gain greater familiarity with the resources available in the OEDK.
