Hello everyone, I’m Harry Zhu, a freshman from Duncan College. I haven’t decided on my major yet, but I’m interested in Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. I am also considering taking the Engineering Design minor.

Taking the FWIS 188/ENGI 120 course in my freshman first semester, I have gained a fair amount of knowledge in engineering design and am getting familiar with OEDK. The project I have worked on in my ENGI 120 course was something I am proud of building. During the course, our team designed and built a portable video studio for Brandon, who is the Head of the Rice Videography department. The project turned out to be well and I’m so glad that I am using my engineering knowledge to help others.

This course gives me the chance to learn how to use 3-D printers and laser cutters. It also gives me insight into the engineering design process.
