Prior to this assignment, I had no laser cutting experience and I feel after this assignment I’m confident enough to use it and explain to others how to use it profficiently to others. This assignment also has given me a refresher on Adobe Illustrator which I have experience using before but it had been a while.
I mainly only made one significcant error while doing this assignment which was setting the incorrect thickness for my wood, I had measured it using a clamp and got 1/5 on an inch, but I didn’t realize I could custom put in the number into the makercase website I used to get the templates of my box so I incorrectly put it at 1/4 of an inch. This cause my box to be a little rough as edges are apparant while running your fingers across the box.
Other than that everything went without a hitch. I designed different images on each side of the box and then Laser cut the wood and combined it together!
Clean work space after.
