Hey everyone, this is Aiman. I’m a Master’s student in Bioengineering on the Global Medical Innovation track. I am originally from Milwaukee, WI but moved to Dallas, TX 10 years ago. I attended UT Dallas where I received my Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering in May 2024. At UT Dallas, I knew I wanted to find a way to combine engineering with my love for clinical medicine. I became really interested in medtech startups but couldn’t find much opportunity in Dallas. At Rice, I’ve had the opportunity to do more hands-on prototyping in the context of creating a medical device. I am very excited to be hands-on in this course and learn new skills. One thing I have made that I am proud of is a programmable syringe pump. One thing I want to make in the future is a 3D printed tiny home. In this course, I hope to learn more about molding and casting to help with projects in my other courses.
