First I created the .ai files of the metal piece using the given diamond and the cedar tree from the lebanese flag!!
I uploaded it to the water jet cutter and checked the minimum level of the sand! After I checked the area then cut my pieces!
My pieces came out GREAT!!! They were beautiful <3 I then sandblasted it and the difference was actually way more noticable than I expected.
I then powder coated the pieces. Unfortunately there was no white so it does not look like the lebanese flag as much as I had wanted but the silver was super cool. Shoutout Joseph for doing this part with me!
We then stuck them in the oven for 20 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and they came out super shiny and nice! There were some imperfections from where the paperclip was holding the metal but otherwise it was a nice smooth coat. We then put them outside on the drying rack to cool.
I came back later to add my vinyl cut sticker! I cut the outline using red to resemble the Lebanese flag. I then applied it using transfer paper and voila!! It looks perfect. I also added the steps I used to create it on the back using paper and tape.
Due to the fact that there were so many people as soon as I left a space clean someone else wanted to use it so I do not have too many photos of clean spaces. I do have the clean area after I used the vinyl cutter and transfer paper though!
Cost Analysis:
1/3 sheet of steel = $5
Powder Coating = $20
4 hours for $15 per hour = $60
Sticker creation and usage = $3
Total: $88
