Alessa’s 3D Impossible Fidget Toy

I decided to do an impossible fidget toy! I found this link on thingiverse please feel free to check it out!

I first printed two on the prusa to test. Below is the photo of them in the software and the completed prints 5 hrs and 19 min later!

Once I took off the impossible fidget toys from the bed, I tested the size compared to the gumball capsule. It is unfortunately slightly too big!! I then measured the diameter of the inside of the capsule to be around 1.8 inches.

I then adjusted the measurements in the prusa software and reprinted! At the same time I created a file in the bambu printer software and adjusted the measurement there accordingly.

I then decided to stay at the OEDK until the prints started to make sure all was well. The prusa started normally. The bambu actually had an issue with the build plate being detected! I removed it and dusted it off. I then re-inserted the plate into the machine and continued the build. The fidget toys continued as normal.

After these finished printing the prusa prints were perfect.

The bambu prints on the other hand not so much. While they did fit in the capsule, 2 of them did not print perfectly.

After analyzing the mess up I first tried to fix it by sanding. After I sanded, one of them looked good as new but the other was not redeemable.

I decided to reprint the last one and that was a perfect print!

Below are the clean spaces I left after working!

Cost analysis

Labor = 4hrs x $15 = $60

3d print filament = $30

Total = $90
