First Post

Hey! My name is Lily, and I am from the western suburbs of Chicago. I am a sophomore at Hanszen, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Engineering Design and Computational and Applied Mathematics. At Rice, I am involved in Cru, the Society of Women Engineers, and Rice Electric Vehicles. At Hanszen, I am involved in intramural sports (flag football, soccer, pickleball, and ultimate frisbee), and I’m on leadership for our Sports and Service Committees!

The summer before my freshman year at Rice, I had the opportunity to build a house in Tijuana, Mexico, on a mission trip with my church. That is the most meaningful thing I’ve ever built. I hope to engineer more things in the future that will serve others as that home has served the family in Tijuana!

One thing I want to build at some point in my life is a treehouse. I did not have one as a child, so I plan on creating one for my children.

In ENGI210, I hope to learn to laser cut.
