Hi! My name is Amelia Huerta and I am a junior Mechanical Engineering student from Chicago, IL. At Rice, I am a MECH lead for Rice Solar Car and am also involved in SWE and Rice Rock-climbing club.

One thing that I have made that I am proud of is a mechanism for articulating cab extenders on a truck so that they could glide out of the way when drivers need to access the back of cab.

One thing I want to make would be more robotics and mechanical systems, which I hope to accomplish by the end of the semester!

I hope to learn about what a CNC machine is and how to operate it. It seems daunting to create something with, but I am excited for the challenge!
