As sewing is something very new to me, I tried my best to challenge myself, but still did it with the beginner option. I started by taking a piece of paper and folding it in half, cutting out a heart to create a template on my fabric.

I then got my two pieces and used a marker to try and mark a smaller heart in the inner part of the fabric. I used a back stitch to sew along my marking, leaving a decent amount of seam allowance. After sewing across the round parts of the heart and part of the pointy end of the heart, I cut down the seam allowance until it was about a half inch or a little less, and flipped it inside out so as to have the seam on the inside and lead to a cleaner finish. Then, I stuffed the heart with some of the cotton fabric stuffing to a desired thickness(ain’t skimpin’ here) and then did a poor attempt to do a slip stitch so as to not have the thread showing on the outside. When that failed, I just did a blanket stitch all over the bottom to close the heart while also making it look good as opposed to other stitch types(in my opinion).

10. Labor – I’d like to believe that, although a beginner, my time was worth at least 10/hr, and it took me 2 hours, so $20

For a grand total of !!!!! $34.15 (Based on Amazon, DMC thread company, Michaels store)

With more practice, labor cost would definitely go down, making this look better, cleaner, and more professional while reducing the cost to make. Also, most of these are reusable, which would reduce overall costs for a business.
