Hello again, and welcome to the story of another box.
This story is much happier than the previous one, but still had its ups and downs.
I first started by using the MakerCase website to make my box using the instructions from the assignment, making a 4x4x4 box with a kerf of 0.015″ from the assignment description, bad error.
I put my name because…the assignment said so and because that is my name.
I put McMurtry, because I am from McMurtry.
I put an Axolotls with a Mexican frag because I am Mexican and I love Axolotls.
I then put a sad electrician because I am an ELEC major in progress and still have a lot to learn!
I put a capibara because they are so cute and it’s one of my favorite animals after an Axolotl and because I didn’t know what else to put.
And I put a Snoopy because I love Snoopy! As you may already know.
I then went to the laser cutting room to cut my file using the suggested settings from the TA’s email since it worked really well in my name tag.
M2: cutting – 37/38s, 100p, 50f, 4 cycles
engraving – 100s, 100p, 600dpi

My kerf was to big!!! I thought about sanding all of the pieces and just end with it…but I wanted to try again and learn from my errors, as that was the point of the homework, so I ended up following the kerf calculating instructions and ended up with a kerf of 0.0035″ printing test pieces to see if it would work.

0.005″ left 0.004″ right
After having this new kerf, I was able to print my box again, witch turned out amazing!!! The pieces fit perfectly!!!
Look, look!!!
