Another Snoopy, Another Story

Hello again!

This week, I had to use the plasma cutter to make two metal diamonds and use post-processing techniques to make it ✨pretty✨.

First, I made my design dxf file with adobe illustrator. As you can predict, it is another Snoopy, because I like Snoopy, and we can’t judge.

I then went to my tutorial workshop with TA Paige❤️ thinking that everything was going to go great and easy.
But my file didn’t work 💔
I then edited my file by taking out the inner diamond and making the Snoopy more simple, went back into the plasma cutter and did it by myself.❤️ and left really happy to come the next day to do post processing.
Until I realized I was supposed to do 2 diamonds.💔 Which I did really happily!❤️
I then went to the angle grinder to grind the ugly parts that the plasma cutter left from melting the metal.
It came out like this!
This part was so scary because a lot of sparks where coming out and the machine was so HEAVY!!!
But I did it and I was now able to sand blast it.
This part took so long and boring!!! But also really interesting seeing the metal change and become more smooth and shiny. I really liked the texture.
I then went to use the power coating machine to color it a shiny red, which I think fits really good with the Snoopy character.

This was the best part! It was so fun to color it and then bake it in the oven!
I then realized that there where some little spots missing paint and decided to do a second coat of power coat.
They came out so pretty!!!
I then decided to put a final coat of clear spray paint to make it more shiny.
My Snoopy diamonds are now finally done and I am so happy!
