Come on you spurs

For this assignment, I learnt how to use the plasma cutter and post process metal pieces. I used my favorite soccer team’s logo (Tottenham Hotspur) as my diamond design. I had to come back to use the plasma cutter by myself because the pieces i cut during the training was too small. I was comfortable using the plasma cutter thanks to the training and the step by step guide!
Here is a picture of plasma cut in action:
I couldn’t find a perfect reference piece in the box for reference cutting parameters so I my cut wasn’t very clean on the edges. I first used the files to grind down bigger melts of metal on the side.
I then used the angle grinder for a smoother edge and the middle part where i was not able to work on with the files.
For the next step I sand blasted the pieces for better surfaces for coating. This step took slightly longer than I expected and holding the pieces with the gloves really gave me an arm workout.
My last step was to powder coat it into blue, because I was wearing gloves and goggles, and someone is using it next, I didn’t have photos of it in action.
Here are proofs of clean up:
(putting the angle grinder back in place)
(brushed off the powder from the grind and powders on the table)
