This week, we molded and cast our fingers.
First, I measured and stirred the alginate powder together with warm water in a 4.5:1 ratio. When it started to harden, I insert my fingers into the alginate and waited for it to solidify. After it solidified, I pulled out my hand from the beaker. Next, I mixed the rockite in a 1:3.5 rockite to water ratio before pouring that solution into the finger mold.
After pouring the the rockite solution in the alginate mold for the fingers, I added a screw embedded in the finger so that it can attach to the wall eventually. I let it set for 24 hours before removing the rockite from the alginate mold.

For post-processing, I lightly sanded the excess rockite off the bottom of the fingers using a 120 grit sandpaper before spray painting the fingers and finally topping off with a clear coat.

Here is a picture of my clean workspace.
