Halloween a little late…

This week’s assignment was to cast and mold some finger holders!!!
This was an interesting and slightly hard assignment. First, we start with our work station, which was a little dirty from before I got to it, but we get our necessary ingredients.
I measured out the alginate and water on a scale in a ratio of 4.5:1, using a total of 6.75 ounces of water with 1.5 ounces of alginate. I then mixed this using a mixing stick on a power drill until it was no longer clumpy and slightly viscous.  I put 2 fingers in and let it set, which was when it was slightly difficult to move my fingers, and then carefully pulled them out.
I then mixed the Rocktite blend, using 70 grams of Rocktite and 20 grams of water, based on the recommendations given with the assignment for two fingers… but ended up using half as it turns out my fingers were quite small and stunted. I then used the 3d printed jigs with screws to finish the project and let it set. I then cleaned all my other tools and put them back
After a long time, I demolded my fingers and removed the mold as well, and got my finished fingers.  There was not really too much to do to them, and I considered spray painting them or doing some other post-processing, but I left them grey and dirty, like my real hands :). If I were to post-process, though, I would have primed and painted on them to create some grimdark fingers, potentially, or a bloodied finger, but that would be too much work on a time crunch and not too many tools except the personally unispiring spray paints
Cleaned out the final cup used including what was left over from the previous user.
