The Longest Fingers Ever Made

Hi everyone, for this project, I attempted numerous times to try and get a mold of my fingers to work. Eventually, with many trials and errors, I was able to get this done. If you are reading this in the future, please read carefully so you do not mess up the ways that I did and have to do this project over and over again.

For starters, MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE RIGHT MATERIALS. This was the reason my molds kept failing and it is important you understand the materials you need for this project.

DO NOT USE THIS QUIKRETE AS ROCKITE, THESE ARE TWO DIFFERENT CONTAINERS. The yellow container is cement and will not work correctly is the given ratios for you to follow on this project. To start of this project, measure out 1.5 ounces of alginate in a 300ml silicone cup, as well as 6.75 ounces of water in another cup. Mix these together till no clumps are left, then stick your fingers into the substance for about 10 minutes, or till you fell the substance start to peal away from your fingers. I recommend here to the dig you fingers as deep as possible, as if you don’t your finger molds will come out quite stumpy.

This is what the alginate looks like btw, so please use this. Now, with the mold ready we can move onto the rockite. ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE THE CORRECT ROCKITE, then measure 70 grams of rockite and 20 grams of water in silicone cups, pouring the water into the rockite and mixing thoroughly. Then pour the mixture into the alginate mold, and still your screws in at 90 degrees to the rockite and let it sit for about a day.
Once you come back remove your fingers and begin the post processing. For me, I only sanded the end bits of my fingers to get any little bits off, then began to spray paint.
Give it another day for the spray paint to dry and your all good. I recommend you start this project as early as possible, and I hope I have been clear in my instructions.
