Wyatt’s Intro Post

Hi everyone! I’m Wyatt and I am very excited to meet you and learn more about prototyping and fabrication techniques! I am a sophomore ELEC at Sid Richardson and am originally from Grand Junction, Colorado.

At Rice I am the flight control lead for Eclipse, where I manage the control system for rockets by designing and fabricating avionics bays, choosing/producing flight electronics, and wiring and assembling it all together.

One thing I am most proud of is designing, building, and flying two of my own Tripoli certification rockets, Gambit and Big Bird, from scratch. I am also very proud of the work I have done in Eclipse as well as in FIRST Robotics.

One thing I want to make eventually is my own fishing boat from scratch!

I hope to learn more about fabrication techniques that I haven’t used yet like sewing and molding/casting, and also lean more into my creative side in EDES 210.
