3D Printing: 3D Maze

In this project I made a “Mini Enigma Cube” by jerair on Thingiverse.  I selected this because the layered nature of it’s shape makes it very hard to manufacture with processes other than 3d printing.

I have had prior 3D printing experience, so my biggest hurdle in this project was removing the support.  I was able to size it correctly and the only failed print was when someone paused my print so they could do theirs :'(.  The stl to gcode c onverter that the OEDK is currently using is 3dprinterOS.  This system automatically created supports for my project.  In a more perfect world I would have liked to design my own object and supports, but I was not able to dedicate as much time to this project as I would have liked.

As can be seen below I broke the 3d print while removing the support as I applied too much force to the print.  With each successive print I was able to remove the support quicker and with less danger of breaking the print.

For Post-Processing I sanded the cubes, focusing on stringing artifacts.
