My name is Kate Mischlich and I am a junior at McMurtry. I love Murt so much and I am actually the external vice president! I also play on the Rice club water polo team. I am majoring in bioengineering. One thing I have made that I am proud of is an ostomy bag for use in low resource settings that I designed in a global health design class. I work a lot with people with disabilities outside of an engineering context, so it was exciting to get to combine these two interests. One thing I hope to make in the future is more tie-dye shirts. I wear lots of tie dye and I love to make my own! This semester in ENGI 210 I hope to learn more specifics about 3D printing. I haven’t had much experience with this compared to a lot of people, and I am really looking forward to learning more.
