These are the preliminary ideas I had for the final project at the end of the semester. It’s hard when pretty much anything is open to you, but here are some of my ideas based on my hobbies and interests.
This is a design for a 3D printed saxophone mouthpiece which I would then use to resonate a vegetable of some sort; probably a carrot. I am also interested in designing an SLR camera. I know it’s possible but I would need to do a lot more research beforehand.
This is the finished boot and also a design for a sundial watch. It’s pretty pointless, but I guess it would technically be right some of the time.
This is a sketch for making a boot. I could model my foot and use the 3D printer to make a stay from which I could wrap the laser-cut leather.
These are both guitars that I am interested in making, but they would be constructed very differently. The electric guitar could be CNC routed, whereas the acoustic could be laser cut, and I would like to play around with using the flexible wood cuts to make the sides.
This is a design for a man-sized Big Wheel tricycle.
These are both 3D printed or laser-etched physical mediums for recorded sound. The first is an LP usually made from vinyl, and the second is a cylindrical version of the same thing which was Edison’s original design.
These are signs for Rice Bikes. The first is an edge-lit LED sign and the other is an old fashioned tavern-style hanging sign.
