This project I learned how to use a CNC machine to cut materials.

I decided to use this noun of an hourglass as my design.

I made the two inner parts of the design into pockets, and then added a contour on the outside. I also scaled it up to be 3 in by 3.8 in.

I made one noun with the Nomad, and the other I did later with the Shapeoko. The one with the Nomad came out perfectly, but with the Shapeoko the toolpath was visible in the pockets.  

After sanding down the edges and the pockets, I spray painted it black and added clear gloss. Here is the final product.
