Hi! My name is Sarvesh, and I am a 2nd year masters student in the Space Studies program.
The project I am most proud of so far is a valve I developed for a future lunar lander during my latest internship. It was incredible to be given full responsibility and design freedom for a critical project like that, as I was able to try many different solutions. Most solutions I tried did not work out, but it was an amazing learning opportunity as this was the first time designing any part.
What I hope to make is something using CNC, as many components in the aerospace industry are manufactured through some form of CNC. I hope the experience I gain in class will help me in my career to design parts that are optimized for CNC manufacturing, as the industry is now prioritizing lower cost.
The picture I have included was taken after my first discovery flight. I was in Wichita, which is known as the “air capital of the world” due to its deep history with the aviation industry. It was a great experience, and I plan to work on obtaining a private pilot license in the future.
