For my Casting & Molding assignment, I made a cast of my index and third fingers as they are my favorite both functionally and aesthetically. To create a mold, I mixed alginate and water 1:1 ratio, put my two fingers in, and waited for it to solify. It was definitely a weird feeling when the alginate started to turn into a solid around my fingers! After solidification, I poured in plaster, taped two screws upside down in the resulting finger cavities, and left it overnight. My post-processing was a simple red spray paint because I liked how starring and eye-catching red fingers are. This assignment was one of the more relaxed ones, but I still appreciated it.
